I have created flashcards for Mandarin that look like this:
Front： 上厕所
Back： shàng cèsuǒ
Inside: Go to the restroom.

In Finnish, I create flashcards like this:
Front: Kun vaalien äänistä on laskettu yli 90 prosenttia, Kansalaisfoorumi -puolue on saanut ääniä noin 42 prosenttia.

Back: vaali - election

I suppose flash cards including various derivational stems could be useful if it's one of those semi-irregular words, like say, juosta - juoksen; or viides - viidentenä/viidennessä.

Are there any simplified news sites for Chinese? I remember Finnish has selkokieli/selkouutiset, but what of Chinese?

I use Drupal, which is made up of a PHP framework. I do not have to touch the PHP and that is the beauty of this blog software.
