Four of us met tonight to speak Finnish for a couple hours. We decided to meet every week to keep up our skills and socialize. I am on the hook for hosting come next Tuesday evening. It was refreshing to be in the Finnish side of my mind and to forget my stress in the midst of Finnish rhythms and derived jokes. It is incredibly funny to hear what language students come up with in terms of making regular slang expressions into verbs, etc.
We talked of Pieru and the oddity of my naming her that. She's a nice cat. Amidst our discussions, one member said, "Kun mun Pieru oli neljä päivää vanha..." Me naurasimme kovasti. Ihmettele!
