whitetip sharks are safer than parakeets

As I coaxed the family parakeet to get onto my finger, it did so casually without concern. As I moved it to its banana-eating spot, it started to sink its beak into my left index finger. I quickly convinced it to stop. Had I not, I am pretty sure a really nice chunk of my finger's flesh would be protein folding soon after the chomp.

Later, I snorkelled with whitetip sharks while on three separate dives. They could[n't] care less that I was there above them bubbling away near the surface. I dove down to get a closer look and one "wandered" off. I have all my fingers, toes, and thighs.
