Currently, “practice communication hygiene” means that I:
- articulate and express my needs unapologetically;
- communicate directly with the person, given that it’s feasible and healthy to do so;
- respond neutrally to questions rather than defensively;
- reserve the right to not respond to unsolicited feedback, and grant others the same right;
- respect that giving or receiving a “No.” answer (with or without a reason) is healthy and acceptable;
- respond at a moment of my choosing.
